The last few years have been full of creative creations of the guys from the strokes, Albert Hammond Jr. has becomed very well known for his own on a solo career, Julian Casablancas has been collaborating in a lot of stuff and made a highly electronic album and Fabrizzio Moretti made the oh so wonderful side project Little Joy with Binki Shapiro (his girlfriend) and Fabrizzio Amarante (of Os Hermanos), safe to mention that is has been easily my favorite project related to any of The Strokes.
The Strokes never really put an end and to the band and since last year the buzz of them getting back with another album not only promises greatness but also great anticipation.
The single is available as a free download on their web page and it’s a typical Strokes song maybe a little bit more upbeat and happy than usual but still sounds like strokes, it has variations that are not so common in previous songs and a very different singing emphasis on Julian’s voice, it’s a great pop tune for the winter with a warm and fuzzy feeling.
