Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (II) (2010)

Crystal Castles is a Canadian electronic duo that made a lot (and I mean a lot) of fame in 2008 with their first LP Crystal Castles, and now they follow two years later with this LP also self titled, that's why I say Crystal Castles (II) or just simply (II).

This time around, Crystal Castles is less all over the place than they were on (I), the sound is much more cohesive and less aggressive, some might say that could mean that is less creative and in a way they're right, but what I see in this album is a much more developed personality and signs of a much more mature album. You can still find reverb and noise in here, and they get louder, but also they use better their silence and calm songs.

Also, this LP is sort of the continued sound of (I) but with an expansion on the quality they can bring, even easier to digest even though I find it more experimental this time around.

Another thing that made Crystal Castles huge this year was the cover of Platinum Blonde "Not In Love" that they did again with The Cure's Robert Smith that was simply HUGE and perfect; they did the cover in the Album but then the re-did it with Robert Smith as a free single, its like a cover of the cover and its amazing
